Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a great weekened.  I did.  Got a new crib and a few toys, so all is good in my kingdom.  My brothers and my sister had lots of fun, too.  They went to see our cousin Hudson and I heard they went for a very long walk.  I stayed home and chill inside my new house.  I had a housewarming party last saturday but my brothers and sister were all too big to get in my house.  So I just let them stick their heads in for a few minutes each.  =)

But last night was a sad time for mommy.  Her Bala fish died.  Daddy cleaned the tank and Mr. Jude got really stressed.  We kept purrraaayying for him to make it.  But he didn't.  RIP Mr. Jude.  Have fun swimming at the rainbow bridge.

Here I am this morning.  Pardon the face.  I just woke up.

Our Sunday Walk

We went to visit Hudson today and took him for a walk with us.  Hudson is my BIL's dog and he is an extended part of the family.  The dogs had so much fun running and playing in the big open field.

The Castle

We took Zeus to the vet today to get his first shots since we have no clue if he's ever had any. A physical exam revealed that he has earmites. =( Vet said he probably contracted it from his mom since birth that's why he seems so used to it that he hasn't scratched the crap out of his ears. We got him medications for it and a dewormer for him. He will go again next month for a booster and to get fixed and chipped.

Poor guy was so stressed out we decided to reward his good behaviour at the vet and bought him a cathouse/scrath post. He loves it. Even the dogs like it. =)

Zeus in his new condo

Zeus:  Your place or mine, you pick babe.. hehe

Cain:  So, uhm, how are we gunna fit in there?
Abel:  We need to get in, I heard Zeus throwing a housewarming party!

Abel:  But only my head fits!

Meanwhile, Little Miss Xena is hanging out with Zeus, checking out his new toys.  =)  What a great CATURDAY!

The Strangest Thing Happened...

A year and a half ago, we started training the dogs to heel while we're on the bikes.  We go for an hour ride everynight to practice.  It was a warm summer day and as my DH was trying to get our bikes ready and making sure the dogs are properly leashed, my eyes caught something moving behind our big pine tree.  I saw the tail.  I screamed, "Oh no, there's a cat, bring the dogs back in the yard!"  Cain at that time had some serious thing for bunnies and I was worried that he might mistaken the poor cat for a bunny and go after it.

Cain and Abel were trying to see what it was.  They were whimpering behind the gate and whinning to get out.  They were never around cats and I didn't want this little situation to be a bad experience.  It wasn't the right time.  Its not how I planned to introduce them to a cat.  In my mind, if they are going to be exposed to a cat,  I want to make sure that the cat is also properly socialized and is used to being around dogs.

I had my camera with me because I was trying to document our progress with the bike heeling.  I snapped a few pictures of the cat and off we went to our nightly bike stroll.  This all happened even before we had Xena.

I have forgotten about the incident and as you can tell, is quite proud and happy of how things are going between Zeus and the dogs.  I can never ask for a better pack of animals than the ones I have now.  Its just perfect.  Everyone gets along well.  Until a few minutes ago, for some reason, I remember the cat we saw.  I wasn't very sure at first, but I knew the cat was the same color as Zeus.  I uploaded that photo in my computer before and I decided to look for it.

My jaw dropped to the floor.  The cat is almost a CARBON COPY of Zeus.  If I didn't find Zeus as a kitten, I would think that it could be him.  Here are the photos of the cat:

This cat was wandering our area when we saw him.  Could it be, that I actually met ZEUS dad a year and a half ago?  Was it destiny?  Was he outside our house to tell me that a year and a half later, I will be caring for his son?

Why MOMMY loves Fridays...

Because Mommy found our youngest family member on a friday.  She wasn't sure if she can keep him, but this picture that she sent to Dad at work when we found him, SEALED the deal.  The very next day, daddy named him Zeus.

Zeus and his bestest friend Cain

and we've come along wayyyy since then..  we even share the couch..

The World Belongs To Me..

Yes, you heard that right..

The World is my own personal bedroom
I can sleep as much as I please
Anytime, anywhere
If I feel like it...

I will eat when I want to
Could be anything..
Maybe the strap of your camera
While you're busy adoring me..

I watch the world
while the whole world is watching me..

The world belongs to me..
Its sad that you can't see
But everything belongs to me..
You are my slave, my loyal fan..
Why?
BECAUSE IM A CAT!

Happiness is...

experiencing freedom because we earned it...
because we've shown MOM that we can be trusted...
that when she calls, no matter what or however much fun we're having
that WE are gonna be there...
all she needs to do is call.

the expression on my face..
tongue hanging out..
running like i dont give a care..

running free..
enjoying life...
being dogs...

being alive...
and sharing it with those we love...

What Lazy Sunday Really Means...

To the pack, it means enjoying the company of each other...

For Abel, it means letting it all hang out, and not be judge for it

For Xena, it means, its the best time to beat the crap out of her sleeping brothers..

For Cain, it means enjoying the comfort of the couch.
For Zeus, Sunday is not an excuse to forget about spying on the neighbours.

Its also the best day of the week to learn some Kung-Fu from the cat.

BUSTED!

Never trust a cat.  NEVER.  He will always get you in trouble.

Even while serving detention, the cat is still conspiring.  Tsk tsk.

The Bday Girl & Her Guests

Two days ago, we celebrated our Princess first bday (Oct. 14).  Because it was cold and snowing outside, we decided to do an indoor bday party instead.  It was a blast.  Everyone enjoyed it.  They danced and laughed and joked.  And yes, its a joke.  But I did baked her a liver cake (a tradition I started when Cain & Abel celebrated their first bday).

Want to know if you are ready to have a dog in your life?

If your reaction after seeing this picture is "WOW, what a beautiful piece of ARTWORK" then you are READY.  If your reaction is "OMG, gross!" then, you are DEFINITELY NOT ready.  For me, this proves my dogs creativity.  I am already saving up money to send them to art classes to enhance their natural talent.

Welcome To Our Furry Lives

The dogs have always wanted to start a blog. But the cat always get in the way. Either by purposedly knocking the keyboard or "pretending" to be asleep on it. Our household is often called as the Khresna's Zoo. We have dogs, a cat and a big tank of fishes. If I have my way, we will also have a pot bellied pig, a llama, a monkey and perhaps a dinosaur.

I grew up around dogs and cats. My grampa is the biggest animal lover I know. He used to own snakes, monkeys, spiders (I know!!!), frogs.. etc. I only heard of them from his stories. But we've always have dogs and cats. I was raised by my grandparents. This house, too, was a Zoo. When I was younger, we owned doves as well. We must've hundreds of them living on top of our roof.

But this blog isn't about me, I just wanted to give a brief background and perhaps, justify, why I, too, dreamed of becoming my own Zoo's zookeeper.

We have three dogs. Cain and Abel, who are brothers from the same litter. We got them when they were 8 weeks old. Now the boys are 2 and a half years old. Xena, our female dog, just turned a year old yesterday. We adopted her as a puppy as well. She was my xmas gift last year. Zeus is our cat. He is a kitten. He followed me home. That's no bullcrap. HE REALLY DID FOLLOW ME HOME, whether you guys buy it or not. Zeus is about 4 months old. Yesterday, I found one of his baby tooth on the floor. Gross.

We also have a 90gal fishtank. Filled with "gifted" fishes. Will elaborate about them on my next post. I would like to keep this first post focused on introducing our FAMILY.

And here are the stars of this blog:
